Mrs. Gorton Vorland returned home Tuesday after spending several days in Milwaukee.

Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Strathman spent several days in St. Paul buying merchandise.

Mrs. W. W. Sossaman spent several days in Milwaukee attending a men’s wearing apparel convention.

Myron Kniess made a trip to Rochester, Minn., last week where he purchased a cement block mixer.

Rev. O. Hoffmann attended a meeting of the Board of Young People’s Work at Wausau the latter part of last week.

Mrs. James Beals spent the weekend in Milwaukee with her husband who is in training at the Great Lakes training station.

Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Frane and family of Duluth visited Sunday at the home of the former’s mother, Mrs. L. W. Frane.

Mrs. L. W. Frane and Miss Katherine Phillipi left for Appleton Monday where they attended the funeral of their cousin, Nick Mauer.

Mrs. Carl Mundt, who spent the past several months at Mt. Clemens, Mich., with her son in law and daughter, returned home Friday.

Mrs. Louis Jakel, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hollman and Alvin Hollman attended funeral services of an aunt at Stetsonville Tuesday, Jan. 9th.

Dr. H. H. Christofferson spent several days in Milwaukee where he attended a meeting of the Council of State Medical Society of Wisconsin.

Rev. and Mrs. O. Hoffmann and Harold attended the dedicatory service at the Lutheran church in the town of Wien last Sunday. Pastor Hoffmann conducted the service.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Meyer of Mellen visited Saturday and Sunday at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyer and Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Hibbard. They came to attend the Fred Molle funeral.

Fred Yelke, fire controllman second class, who had been stationed on a destroyer for 16 months in the Pacific, arrived in Colby last week Wednesday for a few weeks visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Yelke, before going to Washington, D.C. His brother, S 1/C, Edward Yelke is also spending a furlough with his parents.
