Unity – June 6, 1883

Mrs. Lamont and Mrs. White were in the village, Monday.

Mr. James Allan made a business trip to Wausau, last week.

Rebecca Marvel returned from Greenleaf, to her home in this village, last Friday.

Pathmaster C. F. Flood has commenced work on the road in the north end of town.

J. A. Petit started for Milwaukee on the 10 A.M. train yesterday, accompanied by his little son.

Practice singing with Dr. Freeman, at Mr. Petrie’s residence, for the Sabbath School tomorrow evening.

Emil C. Mordt, of Abbotsford, was in the village, Thursday afternoon, visiting with his friend J. H. Healy.

Geo. Owens lost a watch, last Thursday, valued at $30. We fear some pickpocket has been inquiring after his health.

A certain young lady in this village was made happy by the arrival, on Saturday afternoon, of a young man from Medford.

That little Daymon, or Demon, traveling for the Inter Ocean Publishing Co., made things lively in our village, for an hour or two, last week.

The Unity Literary Society will hold a private meeting at the M. E. Church, Friday evening of the current week. Members will do well to attend.

There was no preaching in our village, last Sabbath morning for want of an audience. The elder and a few young men were present, however.

Mr. Blood, on returning from Minnesota to his home in Stockbridge, stopped off in this village Tuesday of last week, just for the purpose of having a little fun with the “Speaker” his pious brother-in-law, A. Cook.
