J. Wakefield of Chicago registered at the Pettet House, Tuesday.

F. H. Darling returned from a business trip to Stevens Point Tuesday.

Peter Buchholtz took J. W. Salter and F. H. Darling to Spencer, Sunday.

The Unity schools closed in all departments, Friday, for a week’s vacation.

Miss Marion Burton left for Merrillan Sunday, to finish her school work in that place.

J. F. Lamont returned from Madison Thursday, to visit with his folks for a week or so.

W. T. McGuire and wife spent Sunday visiting with Mr. Young who lives near Colby.

The mill of D. J. Spaulding shut down, Friday, to repair and fix up for the summer’s work.

Wm. Pettet came in from his school Tuesday to vote. His school is having a vacation for a week.

Phillip Purcell, setter at D. J. Spaulding’s mill, quit work, Tuesday, and left for Black River Falls.

Mrs. J. S. Brown spent Wednesday and Thursday in Dorchester visiting with her daughter, Mrs. H. M. Nedry.

R. B. Tously and family moved to Sheboygan County Monday, with the intention of going to California in a few weeks.

The Pettet House opened in an auspicious manner, Monday, under the new proprietor J. C. Bowden, with Grant McCurdy manager.

Mr. Butler’s youngest son has been very sick the past week with diphtheria but under the care of Dr. J. H. Clark we are glad to say he is now improving.

The town of Brighton elected the following town officers: Alfred Cook, Chairman; Aug. Cramer, Aug. Bruesewitz, Supervisors; E. Creed, Clerk; F. H. Darling, Treasurer; Geo. McCurdey, Sen. Assessor.
