August J. Barnett

ABBOTSFORD -- August J. Barnett, 81, Abbotsford, died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2006, at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford. Full military honors will be given by Colby VFW Post No. 2227.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Monday at the funeral home. Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.

August was born Oct. 2, 1924, in Illinois to August and Rose Barnett. August served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II and Korea. August and Janet Ewald were married March 31, 1948, in Randolph. He was owner/operator of Holtz and Barnett Fertilizer.

August is survived by his wife, Janet Barnett of Abbotsford; his children, Michael (Sue) Barnett, Madison, Lynn Gabriel, Wausau, Mark (Jeri) Barnett, Eagle River, Ellie (Dave) Block, Dorchester; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
