Obit: Kocherer, Minnie (1907 – 1940)
Surnames: Kocherer, Jacobs Source: THORP COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 10/03/1940 Kocherer, Minnie (2 SEP 1907 – 27 SEP 1940) (Breezy Hill Correspondent) Mrs. Minnie Jacobs Kocherer was born in the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.), on Sept. 2, 1907 and passed away last Friday, Sept. 27th, 1940 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, after submitting to an operation for a ruptured appendix the Sunday previous. She had reached the age of 33 years and 25 days. She was married to Edward Kocherer, also of the town of Worden, in 1928. To this union several children were born. Two little girls preceded her in death. They lived on a farm near their present home until three years ago. Shortly after her father’s death, they moved on the farm with her mother. Eighteen months ago she entered Mt. Washington Sanatorium in Eau Claire for treatment, of which institution she was still a patient until stricken with appendicitis. She was a kind and devoted mother, also friend and neighbor. Her one desire was to be well and strong again so she could return home and care for her family of little ones. A sister Margaret passed away several years ago, her father Wm. Jacobs on March 12, 1937, and her only brother Wm. Jr., on June 20th of this year. To her the struggles and burden bearing of this earth are ended and we trust that like one, who awakes from a troubled dream, she has awakened to see life’s endless morning break and to know herself at home with all the vast loved ones, missed from earth safe about her. She leaves to mourn her untimely death her husband, Edward Kocherer and five children, Regina, May, Frances, George and Eugene, her mother, Mrs. Matilda Jacobs, two sisters, Alice and Mabel, all of Thorp. Funeral services were held at the Izydorek Funeral Home on Monday afternoon at two o’clock by Rev. Gaylord, pastor of the M.E. Church at Stanley. The pallbearers were Alex Soeller, Geo. Haas, Joe and John Kocherer, Leo and Joe Dulek and John Budzinski. Interment was in the Reseburg Cemetery. |
