Cole, Charley G. #2 (8 OCT 1869 – 19 SEP 1940)

Charley Gilman Cole was the son of Gilman and Amanda Cole. He was born Oct. 8, 1869 at Reedsburg, Sauk Co., Wis., and passed away Sept. 19, 1940 at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 11 days.

The early part of his life was spent at Reedsburg, after which he moved with his parents to Woodstock, Richland Co., Wis., where he lived until 1911 when he moved to Butler, Clark Co., Wis., where he has since resided.

In the past five years he has suffered three strokes which caused his health to fail. On Saturday, Sept. 14 he was taken to the Clark County Hospital, where he contracted bronchial pneumonia and passed away on the above named date.

He leaves to mourn, his brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. B.A. Cole, one nephew, four nieces and two great-nephews, six great-nieces, besides a number of cousins and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted from his home in Butler on Friday, Sept. 20. On Saturday morning he was taken to Woodstock and laid to rest in the family lot beside his parents and sister. Rev. Irish of Thorp conducted the service at the home, while Rev. Householder, an old schoolmate of the deceased, conducted the service at the grave.

Steinhaus and daughter, Lois of Cornell, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Neuendorff of Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Johnson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nelson of Greenwood.
