Surnames: Beck, Hazen, Hutter, Kleparski, Mews, Marolt, Pace, Poskie Source: The Tribune Phonograph (Abbotsford, Clark Co., Wis.), Vol. 47, No. 52, Wed., Dec. 26, 2007, p. 12 Beck, Anthony Joseph “Tony” (21 Mar. 1927 - 26 Dec. 2007) Anthony “Tony” Beck, 80, died on Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at the Colonial Center in Colby. Anthony Joseph Beck was born March 21, 1927 in Dorchester, the son of Albert and Caroline (Hutter) Beck. He was a graduate of Dorchester High School. On May 30, 1950 Tony and the former Alice Marie Kleparski were united in marriage. She died February 28, 2006. They farmed in the Town of Hull and Tony also was a Colby Rural Mail Carrier. He was formerly employed with the Abbotsford Lamont Service Station, was in sales for the Catholic Family Life Insurance, and was a member of the Dorchester branch CFLI. Tony served as the Treasurer of the Town of Hull, an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fisherman and snowmobiler and enjoyed motorcycle touring with Alice and friends, and sharing good times playing his concertina in Tony’s Rhythm Band. Tony will be dearly missed by his children, Daniel (Lynn) Beck, Phillips, Richard (Fran) Beck, Westminster, Colorado and Susan (Lance) Mews, Marshfield; three brothers, Albert Beck, Waukesha, James (Betty) Beck, Stetsonville, and Myron (Betty) Beck, Stevens Point; two sisters, Beulah Poskie, Rhinelander and Betty Marolt, Aspen, Colorado; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six step-great grandchildren. Tony is preceded in death by his wife, Alice; and one sister, Carolyn Hazen. Funeral services for Tony will be held at 10 am Saturday, December 29, 2007, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. Father Woodrow Pace will preside. Visitation will be Friday, December 28 from 4 to 8 pm with a combined parish and Knights of Columbus Rosary service at 7 pm at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford. There will also be a visitation an hour before the service begins at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Maurina/Community Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements. Paid Obituary |
