Obit: Anderson, Charles M. & Wife (1944)
1944 MR. AND MRS. CHARLES ANDERSON PASS AWAY Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson passed away within a few hours of each other at their home two miles west of Longwood on Wednesday Oct. 4th. Double funeral services will be held at the Longwood Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, Oct. 7th at 2 p.m. Burial will take place in the Longwoood cemetery. Obituary next week. DOUBLE FUNERAL IS HELD AT LONGWOOD Double funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Longwood, for Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Anderson, who died Wednesday, Oct. 4, at their home two miles west of Longwood, within eight hours of each other. The Rev. A.E. Norson officiated at the rites, and interment was made in Longwood cemetery. Pallbearers were John Ericksmoen, Albert Aberg, Henry Sorenson, Julius Bredeson, Alvin Thorson, Melvin Erickson, Leonard Kiviko, Herman Thiel, Fred Scherf, Lucius Bowen, Jess Capes, and Walter Needham. Charles M. Anderson was born July 3, 1862 in Solar, Norway and passed away Oct. 4 at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 1 day. Mrs. Charles M. Anderson was born on Jan. 3, 1967 in Solar, Norway and passed away Oct. 4, at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 1 day. They came to this country some 50 years ago and settled on the same farm where they passed away. They leave to mourn their six children, Mrs. Gunda Awe Sorenson of Longwood, Oscar and Arthur at home, Myron of Appleton, Mrs. Carl (Caroline) Chivington of Appleton, and Melvin of Withee. There are also 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Out of town relatives and friends were: Mr. and Mrs. Myron Anderson and daughter, Iris Joan, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Chivington of Appleton, Mr. and Mrs. Ode Hawkingsen and daughter of St. Paul, Mrs. L.S. Ritzinger of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Wm. Tschopp of Chippewa Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Erickson of Winchester. CARD OF THANKS We wish to extend our sincere thanks to our many relatives and friends who so thoughtfully assisted in our late sorrow, the death of our beloved mother and father. Especially do we thank Griebenow’s for their attention and sympathy, the flower girls, pallbearers, and all for their beautiful floral tributes. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Rev. A.E. Norson, who comforted us so greatly with his expression and faith and sympathy. The Anderson Children.
