Obit: Jordan, Mrs. James (1854 - 1912)
Surnames: JORDAN PALMER HUTCHINS TIMLIN TECHMIER ERDMAN CALKINS BUYATT WARNER STORY WARNER JORDEN Source: THORP COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 10/10/1912 Jordan, Mrs. James (DEC 1854 - 7 OCT 1912) Mrs. James Jordan, who has been ailing for the past five months, died on Monday night at the St. Joseph Hospital at Chippewa Fall, aged fifty-seven years and nine months. She was born in Jefferson Co., N.Y. in 1854, came to Elroy, Wis., with her parents in 1866, where she was united in marriage to Mr. James Jorden in 1874. In 1877, she moved with her husband and family to Clark County, Wis., where she has since resided. She was a kind and sympathetic mother and was loved by all her friends and neighbors. The union was blessed with fourteen children, twelve of who are left to mourn her loss, Mrs. Lottie Palmer of Oregon City, Oregon, Mrs. Kate Hutchins of Randel, Wash., Mrs. Rose Timlin, Mrs. Elsie Techmier, Mrs. Phoebe Erdman, Mrs. Addie Calkins, Michael, James, William, Thomas, Emma and Evan Jorden of this place, and two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Nora Buyatt and Mr. Tim Warner of Jump River, and Mrs. Addie Story and John Warner of Stanley. Those who attended the funeral from away were, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Buyatt and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Warner and son of Jump River, Miss Olive Story of Curtiss, Gertrude Story, Tioga, Mrs. Mary Hutchinson, Bloomer, Mrs. Lillian Leonard, stone Lake, Mrs. Edith Anderson, Ladysmith, Louis Jorden of Superior, Thomas Jorden, Hayward and William Jorden of Stone Lake. The funeral took place Thursday morning from St. Mary's Church at Stanley, Father Cisweski officiating, interment taking place in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
