(18 JAN 1837 - 1 MAR 1915) Wilhelm John Buss died at his home in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) of general debility, on Monday, March 1, 1915, at the advanced age of 78 years, 1 month and 11 days. He was born in Pommern, Germany, on Jan. 18, 1837, and immigrated to America with his wife in April 1875, settling at Detroit, Mich., where he resided 15 years. In 1890 he came to Thorp and purchased a farm in the town of Reseburg, where he resided until last year, when he moved to this village. Mr. Buss was highly respected by all neighbors and friends. He leaves an aged wife, five sons and three daughters: William of St. Paul, Herman of Reseburg, Mrs. Anna Wilcox of Crandon, Mrs. Emilie Ziehr of Cadott, Henry of Gilman, Charley of Reseburg and twenty grandchildren. The funeral will take place from the M. E. Church this afternoon, Rev. Swertfeger officiating, interment taking place in the Thorp Village Cemetery.
