Frances Brandt 1910-2003

Frances Brandt, 93, Augusta—formerly of Stanley, passed away April 2, at the Augusta Area Nursing Home in Augusta.

Frances was born in Holloway, Minn., on Feb. 2, 1910, the daughter of Henry and Ida (Callese) Mattheison. She moved to the South Worden area with her family as a young girl, where she grew up and attended school.

Frances and Dick Brandt were married on June 16, 1929, in Thorp. They lived and farmed in South Worden all of their married life.

In later years, Frances resided at Sunset Homes and Victory Medical Center Nursing Home in Stanley, and, as of late, the Augusta Area Nursing Home.

Frances enjoyed passing the time by crocheting and quilting, and was a member of the South Worden Social Club, and a long time member of the Epiphany Lutheran Ladies Aide.

Frances is survived by her children, Boots (La Verne) of Cleveland and Fern (Robert) Storlie of Slinger; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Babe Gunderson of Superior, Kush Reitz of Athens, Jane Grossman of Antigo and Andy Mattheison (Betty) of Green Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ida Mattheison; her husband, Dick, in 1977; and four brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held April 7 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Stanley. Pastor Daniel Welch officiated.

Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Stanley.

It is requested that memorials be sent to the Epiphany Lutheran Church in Stanley.
