(24 May 1892 – 23 Oct. 1951) Local Man Dies Here Unexpectedly Today Louis A. Cramer, 62, died of a cerebral hemorrhage at 6:45 a.m. today at his home, 406 N. Cherry Ave. Although he suffered a heart attack several years ago, he had been in good health recently and death was unexpected. The body will repose at the Hanson Funeral Home from this evening until Monday when he will be taken to Immanuel Lutheran Church to lie in state until the 2 o’clock funeral services. The Rev. G. M. Krueger will officiate at the rites and internment will take place in West Spencer Cemetery. Mr. Cramer was born in the town of Brighton, Spencer, May 24, 1892, received his education in the Spencer Lutheran Parochial School and was married in St. John’s Lutheran Church there Oct. 30, 1913, to Ella Luepke, who survives with two daughters, Mrs. Randolph (Mabel) Facklam, Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs, Melvin (Gertrude) Erickson, Arpin; a son, Wilmer Cramer, Green Bay; and eight grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Otto (Mayme) Andre, lives at Spencer and a brother, George Cramer, at Marathon. Two brothers and a sister are dead. Mr. Cramer, a deacon at the Spencer church for 18 years, was a former treasurer of the School Board in the town of Brighton. He lived in Spencer and farmed there until 1945, when his health failed. After spending a year in Marshfield, he returned to Spencer and lived in the village for a year before coming back to Marshfield in October, 1947.
