Imhoff, Dwight (23 Oct. 1897 – 15 July 1952)

Dwight Imhoff of Colby died on Tuesday morning. Funeral services will be held at the Lulloff Funeral Home Saturday afternoon.

Funeral services for Dwight Imhoff, who died in Colby last week Wednesday at the age of 55 years, as reported in the Phonograph last week, were held at the Lulloff Funeral Home Saturday, Rev. Frank Brick officiating, and burial was made in the Colby cemetery. Military rites were conducted by the American Legion. Pall bearers were Arnold Rannow, Ernest W. Schulz, Karl Sabler, Ed Frome, Sr., John Gries and C. A. Nelsen. Gottfried Nystrum was Legion color bearer and Audrey Whitney the bugler. The firing squad consisted of Veterans of Foreign Wars with Howard Rannow in charge.

Mr. Imhoff was born on October 23, 1897, in Mingo Junction. He married Adeline Neumeister of Colby on June 1, 1922, in Washington, D.C., during World War I. Mr. Imhoff served with the Sixth Marine Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart and French citation. He was employed as a checker in the steel mills at Mingo Junction, Ohio, but spent the summers in Colby.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Helen Lawson, a grand child, his mother, Mrs. Eva Imhoff, and a sister, Miss Elizabeth Imhoff, all of Mingo Junction.
