Obit: Schoch, William #3 (1877 – 1941)
Surnames: Schoch, Rossman, Schultz, Stewart, Breit - The Loyal Tribune 15 May 1941 - Schoch, William #3 (7 JUL 1877 – 12 MAY 1941) Funeral Rites for Wm. Schoch, 63, who died of a heart attack Monday afternoon at about 2 o’clock were held on Thursday afternoon May 8, at 2 o’clock at the Thorp Methodist Church. The Rev. James Irish officiated at the church services. Masonic rites were held at the cemetery. Wm. Schoch was born July 7, 1877 in the Township of Loyal. At the time of his death he was 63 years and 10 months old. He was united in marriage to Minnie Rossman August 20, 1902 at Loyal. She preceded him in death August 28, 1930. They lived in Loyal until the year of 1904, when they moved to Thorp, where they lived until the time of his death. He was employed on the R.R. Section until 1911. Then he became janitor of the Thorp Public School which position he held for 27 years. The past three years he was janitor for the Thorp Finance Corporation. Relatives left to mourn his death are four brothers, Henry Schoch of Groton, S.D., Frank Schoch of Mosinee, George Schoch and Peter Schoch of Loyal, three sisters, Mrs. Wm. Schultz (Lillian) of Greenwood, Mrs. Wm. Stewart (Ellen) of Montello, Mrs. Nick Breit (Anna) of Bruce, and twelve nieces and nine nephews. He was laid to rest amid a bower of flowers beside his wife in the Thorp East Cemetery. Pall bearers were Wm. Kluda, Albert Childs, Tony Guliyczinske, Arthur Hansman, A. Heideman, Newell Qualle. Mr. Schoch was a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge since 24 years of age, a member of the Mason Lodge for 17 years, a charter member and vice president of the Thorp Volunteer Fire Department since it was organized. His niece, Miss Lilas Schoch kept house for him since the death of his wife. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schoch and George Schoch of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schultz of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stewart of Montello, Mr. Henry Schoch of Groton, South Dakota, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schoch of Mosinee, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Breit, Bruce; Mr. and Mrs. Neil Stewart of Tomah, Mrs. Howard Heller of Elroy, Mr. and Mrs. John Rossman of Polly, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rossman of Gilman, Henry Rossman, Inez Rossman, Rueben Rossman of Reseburg, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rossman and son Boyd, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rozell of Chippewa, Mrs. Wm. Domer of Unity, Mrs. Louis Herman of Waukesha, Mr. and Mrs. George Bushman of Gilman, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Rossman of Cornell, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Skugsted of Stanley. Friends who attended the funeral from out of town included Mrs. Perry Kingman of Gilman, Mr. Walter Newman of Loyal, Miss Winifred Newman of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Litka and son Rueben of Loyal, Mrs. Oscar Lindekugel of Loyal, Mrs. Alex Mrotek, and Mrs. Archie Komis of Loyal. Will, as he was known, will be sadly missed by relatives and a host of friends and neighbors. South Beaver Cor. |
