Jacobson, Sarah E. (16 AUG 1892 – 2 APR 1942)
Mrs. Sarah Jacobson, 49, passed away at her home here on Thursday, April 2nd, 1942, after an illness of about six months. Her condition steadily became worse and death came as a relief.
Sarah Elizabeth Crowley, daughter of the late James and Rosann Crowley, was born in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, on Aug. 16, 1892. She came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) with her parents in 1894 and attended the local schools. On July 17, 1916, she was united in marriage to Ellery S. Jacobson.
She was past immediate president of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by four daughters, (Iris) Mrs. Lester Gallett, lake Mills, Wis., Toddy, Betty and Marie and home, and one son, Tommy at home; four sisters, (Nell) Mrs. E.J. Berendsen of Antigo, Margaret Crowley, Thorp, (Josephine) Mrs. C.S. Wiler, Faribault, Minn., (Agnes) Mrs. J.F. Murry, River Falls.
Funeral services were held at St. Bernard’s Church on Monday, April 6, Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiating and interment following in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Leon Bogumill, Louis Gruszynski, Wilfred Vanderhyden, Lee Snyder, Louis Walsdorf and Frank Broeren.
