Fecker, George (27 Jan. 1868 – 24 Mar. 1950)

George Fecker of Colby passed away Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, at the age of 82 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Jack Frinak, Louis Jakel, Norman Guetschow, James P. Wilde of Colby, Albert Hein of Stratford and Alfred Mueller of Abbotsford.

Mr. Fecker was born on January 27, 1868, at Centerville, Wis., and was married to Adeline Schaller at School Hill, Wis., on July 6, 1898, and, in 1911 they moved to the town of Hull and have been residents here ever since.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Harry and Clarence of the town of Hull, John of Abbotsford and Ervin of Winneconne; one daughter, Mrs. Ervin (Leona) Schimke of New London; 10 grand children, eight great grand children; four sisters, Mrs. Pauline Schad, Mrs. Andrew Kaufman and Mrs. Anna Koenig of Manitowoc and Mrs. Gust Martens of Milwaukee.

Mr. Fecker was a faithful member of his church, a man of generous impulses and a man who united sound sense with strong convictions. He lived nobly and died peacefully at the age of 82 years after a lingering illness following an operation a year ago.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kauffman of Manitowoc, Mrs. Gust Martens of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Schimke and daughters, Cordell and Darlene, and son, Keith, of New London, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Fecker and son, Larry, of Winneconne, Mr. and Mrs. John Fecker and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Mueller of Abbotsford and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Diethman of Riplinger.
