(8 April 1923 – 9 March 2008) Caroline Seebandt Caroline M. Seebandt, 84, of Neillsville, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Neillsville Memorial Medical Center. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Christie. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Neillsville and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Seebandt NEILLSVILLE -- Caroline M. Seebandt, 84, of N6233 Owen Ave., in Neillsville, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Neillsville Memorial Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Christie. The Rev. Daniel Cole will officiate. Burial will be in East Weston Cemetery in Christie. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons Kirit and Jeremy Lezotte, and Garrett Seebandt, and her grandsons-in-law, Michael Dux, David Hughes and Tom Stensberg. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Neillsville and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church in Christie. Caroline was born April 8, 1923, in New Lisbon to Ferdinand and Minnie (Wentland) Matzke. She was educated at New Lisbon Grade School and High School. She married Henry A. Seebandt on Feb. 28, 1944, at St. John's Parsonage. She farmed with her parents at New Lisbon and then with her future in-laws at Christie while Henry served during World War II in Italy. Henry and Caroline eventually purchased that farm in the town of Weston. She farmed there for 60 years until her illness in August. Caroline was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and their ladies aid and the Christie Sewing Circle. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, travel bingo, gardening and fishing. Surviving are her daughter, Claudean (Douglas) Lezotte, Neillsville; her son, Herman (Patricia Acheson) Seebandt, Neillsville; seven grandchildren, Kirit and Jeremy Lezotte, Rachael Dux, Garrett and Elice Seebandt, Marie Stensberg and Clarice Hughes; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband on April 20, 1991; her parents; three brothers and one sister.
