And Mrs. Roy Feutz Catch Big Ones They Go Deep-Sea Fishing, Out from Their Station At Miami Beach Lieut. And Mrs. Roy Feutz, who are at Miami Beach for military purposes, recently went deep sea fishing. Their experiences are described in a letter to the home folks, written by Mrs. Feutz. She is known locally as Bernita Raine, the daughter of the Everett Raines. Lieut. Feutz is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Feutz, town of Washburn. He is assistant supply manger at Miami Beach for the air corps. Describing the fishing trip, Mrs. Feutz tells how they had made reservations for a boat, but when they arrived at the dock they found there had been a mix-up, with another booking for higher-ups on the same boat. They finally got the use of another boat, whose passengers were late. They could not get under way until the Coast Guard had checked up on them, to make sure that they were not enemies of Uncle Same. Then they were off – Lieut. And Mrs. Feuntz, Lt. Blakney and his wife (Jack and Pauline), and their little girl, Melvetta and “Pop” Lambert, Pauline’s father. Here is the story, as written by Bernita Raine Feutz: “There’s room for only four to fish at one time, with special chairs and rods for that purpose, but we changed off so everybody got a chance. It didn’t take long to get a few miles out in the ocean, and then the fun began. It’s surface fishing, and they keep the boat moving all the time, but at a very slow rate of speed, with the lines trolling out behind, all the way from about 200 or 300 to 600 feet.
