Obit: Mason, Arthur E. (1876 – 1956)

(12 Dec. 1876 – 25 Feb. 1956) Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Monday at the Methodist Church for Arthur E. Mason, 79, who died at 7 P.M. Friday at the Bethel Convalescent Home, Arpin, where he had been living for the past 10 days. He had been living with a daughter at Marshfield since 1952. The Rev. Harvey Schall officiated at the services during which Mrs. Ted Domer and Mrs. Rodney Fuller sang “Jesus Cares” and “Face to Face” accompanied by Mrs. Tom Loughead on the piano. Burial was made in the Unity cemetery. Pallbearers were S. A. Cook, B. W. Mabbott, Russell Cook, Everett Capes, Russell Andrews and Roderick Cook. A carpenter by trade, Mr. Mason moved to Unity at the age of 21 from Rudolph, where he was born December 12, 1876. He married Etta Cook June 25, 1902. They lived here until 1923, when they moved to Marshfield. They also lived in West Allis and Menominee Falls before returning to Marshfield in 1952. Mrs. Mason died October 11, 1953. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leta Niehaus, Marshfield and Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Minear, Phoenix, Ariz.; and 3 sons, Glenn and Melvin, Thiensville, and Walter, North Prairie. There are also 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and a sister. A son, a brother and 2 sisters preceded him in death.
