Meacham, Edward E. (22 Dec. 1882 – 13 May 1959)

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Spencer Methodist Church for Edward E. Meacham, 76, route 1, Spencer, who died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, after an illness of about 10 days. He was taken to the hospital May 3rd and suffered a stroke on May 6th.

The Rev. David Passet will officiate at the final rites and burial will be made in the West Spencer cemetery.

The body is reposing at the Jasperson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Roscoe Meacham, Frank Seefeld, Louis Seefeld, Albert Seefeld, Alfred Hendrickson and Lee Schofield.

In charge of flowers were Mrs. Roscoe Meacham, Mrs. Lee Schofield, Mrs. Albert Seefeld and Mrs. Frank Seefeld.

Miss Syrl Andrews sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beyond The Sunset,” accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Dora Tesmer.

Mr. Meacham was born in Unity on December 22, 1882, and received his education in the Groveside School in the Town of Unity. From 1911 until 1920 he homesteaded and was a coal miner in Musselshell County, Montana. In 1920 he returned to Clark County to take over his father’s farm and had resided there ever since.

He was married in 1920 at Roundup, Montana, to the former Mildred Wichman of Absher, Montana, who survives him.

Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Evelyn) Ringquist, Spencer; Mrs. Verland (Margaret) Gaetz, Wausau; five grandchildren, and two brothers, Ira, route 1, Spencer; and Raymond, Stockton.

He was preceded in death by one son, Erwin, in 1924 and by two brothers, Leonard and Archie.
