Mueller, George P. (21 MAR 1883 – 18 DEC 1941)

George P. Mueller passed away Friday morning, Dec. 12, 1941, from an embolism at his farm, which is operated by Roy Lindow in the Town of Sherman.

George was born in the Town of Sherman on March 21, 1883, the son of Carl and Etta Mueller. He operated the farm located near Veefkind. He was married to Mabel Krueger Timmerson in Oct. 1922. Due to his wife’s ill health, they moved to Riverside, California, where Mrs. Mueller passed away. Since his wife’s death, George spent his time in California and here, making his home when here with his sister, Mrs. Chas. Rahm. He became interested in carpentry and did consider work of that kind, besides assisting at his farm.

His cheering words and hearty laugh will be missed by both young and old who were fortunate to know him. The large crowd in attendance at his funeral and the many floral contributions proved the esteem in which he was held.

Funeral services were held at the Veefkind Salem Lutheran church, at 2 o’clock Wednesday, following a short service at the farm house.

The Rev. J. C. Langholz, Loyal, officiated during the services. Three songs, “I’m But a Stranger Here,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Abide With Me,” were rendered by the choir, consisting of Mrs. Albrecht, Mrs. Lowell Shultz, Mrs. Melvin Tews, Laurence Shultz and Albert Dietz, accompanied by Mrs. Selma Dietz at the organ. George was laid to rest in the Salem Lutheran cemetery in the Town of Sherman.

He is survived by three brothers, John and August of Spencer and Chas. of Chili, and a sister, Mary (Mrs. Chas) Rahm, of Loyal.

The pallbearers included: William Farnsworth, Henry Gunz, Wm. Marten, Roy Lindow, Chauncey Stevens and Ed Stevens. In charge of the flowers were; Mrs. Alvin Kissinger, Mrs. Martin Dankemeyer, Mrs. Roy Lindow, Mrs. Chauncey Stevens, Mrs. Ed. Stevens, Mrs. Chas. Mundt, Mrs. Lowell Shultz, Mrs. Wm. Farnsworth, Mrs. Alfred Seefeldt, Mrs. Margaret Seefeldt and Mrs. Mildred English.

Among those from away who came to attend the funeral were; Mrs. Chas. Pratt and daughter, Ferol, of Cudahy, Wis.; Mrs. Peter Schlueter, Knowlton, Mont.; Mrs. Leroy Stabnow, Mellon, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Te Salle, Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Tober, Unity, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Tober, Janesville; Mrs. Dawson Caulter, Riverside, Calif.; Herbert Rahm, Milwaukee, and the Wagner Bros., Westfield.
