Maybe the result of the groundhog seeing his shadow Friday. Mrs. Martin Reinart underwent an operation at Sacred Heart hospital last Tuesday. Mr. Reinart is staying with her at present. Mrs. Myron Turner returned to Chicago Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. George Holub entertained friends from Alma Center and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Otto Thursday night. Mrs. James West will entertain the Welcome club today. Dave Carter, Fond du Lac, spent a week in Neillsville visiting his brother, Ed, who has been very ill. He stayed with his niece, Mrs. Ed Short. Mr. and Mrs. George Holub spent Wednesday night with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Holub, helping them celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Short and Dave Carter were dinner guests at the Paul Kuhn home last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Short and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kuhn were visitors in the afternoon to visit Mr. Carter, who is 84 years old. He lived in this neighborhood many years ago. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Alfred (Ted) Schultz at Sturgeon Bay Wednesday, January 24. Mrs. Horace Rodman will entertain the Ladies’ Aid Thursday, February 15. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reinart and Mrs. Myron Turner visited their mother at the hospital Sunday and found her gaining nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short were callers at the George Holub home Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. James West and family were callers at the Donald Hughes home Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. George Allbaugn and Lucille Wilding were dinner guests at the Ed Short home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kuhn and Mr. and Mrs. R. Volz and son, Willis, were Neillsville callers Thursday. Lt. Douglas Hagie, who is stationed at Valdosta, Ga., is spending a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hagie. Word has been received by their parents that Robert Mortenson and George Marshall have arrived safely in France.
