Surnames: Meyer, Roosevelt, Gilbertson, Finnigan, Richards, Korth, Bergeman, Pietenpol, Tyler, Mabs, Smith, Fox ----Source: Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 04/19/1945 Granton - by Mrs. Rosetta Meyer The Granton grade school defeated the Mapleworks Lutheran parochial school at softball Friday 24-22. The Granton business places closed Saturday from noon to 2 o’clock in tribute to the memory of President Roosevelt. Erwin Gilbertson, Milwaukee, spent the week-end at his home. Mrs. Howard Finnigan spent the week-end visiting Mr. and Mrs. George Richards at Oshkosh. T/Sgt. Walter Korth and T/Sgt. Gerald Fox were guests of the Rotary club Tuesday evening. Miss Eileen Bergeman, Kenosha, came home Saturday, to attend the wedding of her brother, S 2/c John Bergeman. Floyd Pietenpol returned home Tuesday from the Neillsville hospital, where he had been a patient for two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tyler have returned from West Palm Beach, Fla., where they spent several months with their daughter, Miss Nina Tyler, R.N. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mabs have returned home from Watertown, where they spent the winter.
