Albert Schwarze, 66, passed away at his home in Greenwood Wednesday, August 16, after being ill for the past year with a heart ailment.

Mr. Schwarze was born in the town of Warner August 9, 1878, to Herman and Christine Schwarze. His parents were among the first pioneers to make their home at Decker Corners, where his father operated a blacksmith shop.

He was married in Greenwood 31 years ago to Agnes Norris.

Mr. Schwarze was a blacksmith practically all his life, helping his father, and later, when a young man, he operated a blacksmith shop in this city. When he failed in health a year ago the shop was sold.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Dorothy) Zarling of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Marvin (Lorriane) Ernest, Spencer; his aged father, Herman Schwarze, of Greenwood; three brothers, George, Adolph and Otto Schwarze, all of Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. Mathilda Brick of Greenwood; and Mrs. Sidney (Augusta) Greene of Pueblo, Colorado; and a grandson, David Lee Zarling, of Milwaukee.

He was preceded in death by his mother, who died in February, 1937, a sister, Mrs. Fred (Helen) Buker, in August, 1940; two brothers, Dr. Herman Schwarze, in October, 1932, and Frederick, who died in infancy.

Funeral services for Mr. Schwarze were held August 19, at the Schwarze home and at the Zion Reformed church. The Rev. B. M. Fresenborg officiated. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

During the service “Sweetly Resting,” “Rock of Ages,” and “Nearer My God to Thee,” were sung by Mrs. Daniel Olson, Mrs. B. M. Fresenboerg, Mrs. Martha Horn and Miss Louise Keiner, accompanied by Mrs. Adolph Meyer.

Pallbearers were: W. G. Hartson, of Neillsville, Edward Buker, A. C. Buker, E. N. Paul, Harry Hogue and M. Pratt. Flowers were carried by Mrs. Arnold Beyer of Marshfield, Mrs. Charles Ludwig, Mrs. Bertha Volk; Mrs. Caroline Volk, and Miss Allie Williams.

People from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Zarling and son, David, of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Ernst, of Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Norris and N. F. Norris, of Wabeno; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Norris and Mrs. Walter Froemming, of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Mortimer, Mrs. Roy Mortimer and Mrs. Gilbert Lawrence of York Center, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Hartson, Mrs. Leland Bandelow, an Mrs. Irma Pepper, of Neillsville; the Misses Blanche and Jessie Merrill; of Abbotsford; Mrs. Henry Nabbefeldt and daughter, Rosemary, of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Beyer of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schwarze of Owen; Mrs. Clara Ratz, of Beaver Dam, and Owen Haigh, in the U. S. service.
