Mrs. William Buddenhagen is dead at Fond du Lac at the age of 79. Her son Elmer Buddenhagen of Neillsville left Tuesday for the funeral. She is survived also by her sons Louis and Raymond at Fond du Lac.

The William Buddenhagens formerly lived on a farm northeast of Neillsville, and retained the farm after their retirement. Upon retiring they went to Fond du Lac, where Mr. Buddenhagen died about two years ago.

Mrs. Matilda Buddenhagen, whose death occurred last week at Fond du Lac, was born April 27, 1865, at Campbellsport, Wis., where her early life was spent. On May 20, 1882, she was married to William Buddenhagen at Seymour. They lived at Seymour, Kewaskum and Fond du Lac and about 41 years ago moved to Clark county. They purchased a farm in the town of Pine Valley, just north of Neillsville, which was their home until 1920, except for two years when they lived in Neillsville.

In 1920 Mr. and Mrs. Buddenhagen returned to Fond du Lac, which has been her home since. Mr. Buddenhagen died six years ago. Mrs. Buddenhagen was an active member of the Methodist church, and also of the Royal Neighbor lodge. She has been a semi-invalid for several years.

Surviving are the three sons, Elmer, Neillsville; Louis and Raymond of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters: Albert Bunkleman of Hortonville; Lewis Bunkleman of Allentown, Wash.; Emma, Mrs. George Millham, Seattle, Wash.; Ida, Mrs. Jack Van Dehey, Minneapolis. Another brother, William Bunkleman of Neillsville died in November, 1944.
