News: Dells Dam (28 May 1903)
---------Source: NEILLSVILLE TIMES (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 05/28/1903 The heavy rains of last week Wednesday caused a rise in Black river that sent it on a rampage. Wednesday night two gates and a pier of Dells Dam were washed out. They constituted a considerable section of the Dam, and it is probable the dam will never be repaired, as the driving association has gone out of business, and the dam is of such construction and age that it would have been wholly useless for any other purpose. It is thought by fishermen that the destruction of the dam will result in better fishing up this way hereafter. |
