NEILLSVILLE -- Clifford Clyde Harmon, 84, of Neillsville died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at his home in Neillsville.

Services for Cliff will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2008, at The Highground in Neillsville. Interment will be in the Shamrock Union Cemetery in Shamrock.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Gesche Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at The Highground.

Clifford was born July 31, 1923, in Oak Ridge, town of Manchester, the son of Claude and Mayme (Erickson) Harmon. Cliff enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Upon returning to the Black River Falls area after his honorable discharge, Cliff drove gravel truck for Jessop. In 1948, he was united in marriage to Lois Faye Narron. They later divorced. Cliff began a career in the meat cutting business, first for Kroger IGA in Tomah and from 1958 until his retirement for Copps in Stevens Point. He moved to Neillsville in 1993.

He is survived by two daughters, Debra (John Kappen) Harmon of Augusta, and Brenda Hemstrom of Neillsville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Marian (Del) Harelson, Black River Falls; and a very special friend, Joan Mallory, Neillsville.
