Surnames: Abegglen, Balsiger, Bjorge, Maeder, Meyer, Selle, Williamson, Wiesman ----Source: The Tribune Phonograph (Abbotsford, Clark Co., WI), Volume 48, No. 30, July 23, 2008, Page 12 ----Maeder, Adele Mathide (Balsiger) (July 27, 1916 - 17 July 2008*) Adele Mathilde Balsiger was born July 27, 1916, in St. Paul Minn., to Elizabeth (Abegglen) and Frederick Balsiger. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 25, at the Williamson - White Funeral Home, Amery, with Pastor Tim Bjorge presiding. Interment will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 25, at the Fenwood Cemetery. Music for the service will be provided by Julie Selle and Lou and Kathy Williamson. Adele Mathilde Balsiger was born July 27, 1916, in St. Paul, MN, to Elizabeth (Abegglen) and Frederick Balsiger. She graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1932, received her teaching certification from La Crosse Normal School and taught for eight years in the one room country schools of Papoose Creek, Squaw Creek and Houghtenberg, near Black River Falls. Adele was married to Edward Frederick Maeder on November 9, 1940, in Black River Falls. They lived in Humbird, Neillsville and Fenwood, where Freddy died March 7, 1973. She was active in the church, the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Neillsville and St. Peter’s ALC Church in Fenwood. Adele operated Freddy’s Bar in Fenwood until 1973. She married Albert Wiesman in 1978 and he died in 1995. Adele moved to Golden Age Manor in Amery in 1996. She is survived by her son, Edward Maeder of Deerfield, MA; her daughter, Elaine Meyer, of Amery; three grandsons; four great grandchildren and her brother Walter Balsiger, Chippewa Falls. *Note: No death date given in the online edition or weekly version of the Tribune-Phonograph. This death date was taken from the SSDI. Adele is listed in the SSDI with the surname of Maeder, not Wiesman; as a person would think.
