Surnames: Rude, Strand ---------Source: NEILLSVILLE TIMES (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 03/02/1905 --------- Rude, Martha #2 (10 APR 1841 – 24 FEB 1905) Mrs. Martha Rude died Friday, Feb. 24th, 1905, at 4:30 a.m. of abdominal dropsy, at the home in this city (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.), aged 63 years, 10 months and 14 days., having been born at Ringebo, Gulbransdalen, Norway, on the 10th of April 1841. The funeral was held from the M. E. Church Sunday, at 11 a.m., Rev. G. W. Campbell officiating, and a large concourse of friends testified to the high esteem in which this good woman was held. Deceased was born Martha Strand. She was married to John Rude, who survives here, in this city, in 1874, having come here in 1866. She is also survived by the children Josephine, George, John and Mary. Two children have died, Georgina and Oscar. She leaves a brother, at Warrens, Wis., Andrew Strand, who, with his daughter Sadie, was here to attend the funeral. Mrs. Rude was a home-loving, faithful wife and mother, devoted to her family and making her work therefore her chief duty. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community. |
