At 3:00 p.m., Saturday August 21, (1948), at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville, Miss Ruth Beilke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beilke, Granton, and Lyle Humboldt, son of Mrs. Cora Humboldt, Willard, repeated their marriage vows. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. William Baumann.

Lighted candles and cornucopias filled with asters and gladioli, and baskets of mixed gladioli, and ferns made up the church decorations.

The bride was gowned in white satin and lace, made in princess style with sweetheart neckline and long train. Her fingertip veil was held in place with a crown of beaded pearls. Her jewelry was pearls and earrings, gifts of the groom. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses. Miss Erline Dux, niece of the groom was maid-of-honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Alvin Ziegler and Miss Beverly Olker, friends of the bride.

Harold Beilke, brother of the bride, was bestman, and the other attendants were Alvin Ziegler, and Bernard Walker, friends of the groom. Ushers were Melvin and Norman Dux. Ring bearer was Gary Sternitzky, and the flower girl was Anna Marie Sternitzky. Mrs. William Baumann sang, accompanied by Mr. Victor Lehman on the organ.

At 5:30 a reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents, guests numbering about 40. A three tier wedding cake centered the table. The home was decorated with wedding bells and colored streamers.

After August 27, the couple will be at home to their friends on the groom’s farm near Willard.

The bride, a graduate of the Granton High School, and the Wood County Normal, has taught for the past six years in Clark County schools.

In the evening a coin shower and dance was held at the Silver Dome.
