September 30, 1948 ---O’Brien, Patrick (25 April 1883 – 23 September 1948) Funeral services for Patrick O’Brien, 75, were held on Saturday, September 25, (1948), from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. Burial was made in the Colby Cemetery. He died on Thursday, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Mr. O’Brien was a resident of Colby since 1921. Surviving are his widow and three sons: Joseph of Chili, James of Loyal, and Sylvester of Spencer; and one daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Bertha) Reuden of Abbotsford. Two brothers and four sisters also survive. Patrick O’Brien was born in Ontario, Canada, April 25, 1783 (1883); and after his marriage to Miss Jane Reid, they moved to Kenmore, N.D. in 1902. They lived on a farm near Colby until 1942, when he retired and they moved to the city of Colby.
