---Rabenstein, Rachel (? –1948)

Word has been received here of the death of a former Neillsville resident, Mrs. Rachel Rabenstein, widow of Carl Rabenstein, who died in Neillsville in 1927. Mrs. Rabenstein, who was 90, died at Fort Atkinson at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. C. Gillard, with whom she had made her home since her husband’s death.

Mrs. Rabenstein spent all of her married life here in Neillsville. She is also survived by a son, M. K. Rabenstein, of California.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Thursday in Fort Atkinson. The body will be brought to Neillsville Friday, and burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Cole Funeral Home is making arrangements for the graveside services at 2:00 p.m. Friday, at which the Rev. Virgil Nulton will officiate.

The Rabenstein family was long connected with Der Deutsch-Amerikaner, a German language newspaper. Carl Rabenstein was editor of the paper.
