News: Local Tidbits 11-24-1881
Source: The Clark Republican and Press Date: 11-24--1881 Greenwood Correspondence Len Eastman has a bonanza in the wood butchering business, employing from two to five men, besides doing two or three men’s work himself. Messrs. Barr & Syth, doing the forging and iron work, turn out as much work to the square inch of daylight as any men in town. W. E. Cornick, of the Begley House, is confined to his bed with inflammatory rheumatism. Mr. Sheehan is going to start one of his camps on the Eau Claire river tomorrow. John Vine is preparing to do an extensive business lumbering this winter. Quite a number of Indians are camped close to town, engaged in killing game for this market. They seem to find it plenty.
