Obit: Dagenhardt, Edward P. (1883? – 1937)
Surnames: Dagenhardt, Henke, Holdorf, Stokes ----Source: Abbotsford Tribune (Abbotsford, Clark County, Wis.) 01/28/1937 ----Dagenhardt, Edward P. (1883? – 21 Jan. 1937) Edward P. Dagenhardt, 54, president and treasurer of the Dagenhardt Construction company of Eau Claire, which he founded, dropped dead in the Conrad Fur company store, Grand Avenue east, at 1:30 Thursday afternoon. He was in the building and contracting business there the past 26 years. Death was due to a heart attack, according to Dr. L. E. Henke, who was summoned at once by John Holdorf, manager of the store, and with whom he was engaged in conversation at the time he was stricken. Coroner R. H. Stokes was also called by Mr. Holdorf. Mr. Dagenhardt, who had dropped into the store on a matter of business, was chatting with Mr. Holdorf, when suddenly, without a word or a gesture, he slumped to the floor. He was dead when Dr. Henke arrived, not having regained consciousness. His visitor appeared to be in the best of health and spirits, Mr. Holdorf said, and had stopped to chat with him a few minutes as he was about to leave the store. Surviving him are his widow, a brother, John, and a sister, Miss Mayme Dagenhardt, both of Minneapolis, and two brothers in California. He went to Eau Claire 26 years ago from Abbotsford, where he had been in the contracting and building business. He continued in the same business in Eau Claire and was the head of the Dagenhardt Construction Company, which he formed some years ago. Mr. Dagenhardt was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of the Elks. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 8 o’clock from the residence and at 8:30 from St. Patrick’s church at Eau Claire.
