Marie Kernen was born in Switzerland on Apr 23, 1872. She grew to womanhood there and on Apr. 23, 1893, on her 21st birthday, she was married to Gottlieb Brechbuhl. The family came to America in 1921, and with the exception of a few years spent in Illinois, they resided on a farm in the town of Beaver, until after Mr. Brechbuhl’s death on Jan. 22, 1943.

Mrs. Brechbuhl became a member of the Lutheran church in Switzerland, and funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. C. Langholz, pastor of the local Trinity Lutheran church, Sunday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m. from the Ohlrogge Funeral Home.

The minister, the pallbearers and the undertaker were the same as served at the funeral of her husband.

The hymns were sung by Mrs. Martha Dux and Laura Noeldner, with Mrs. Marie Seeman as accompanist.

Pallbearers were Joe Shefchik, George Foelsch, Hugo Schuette, William Kloszinski, Albert Schuette and Joseph Pachel.

Mrs. Louis Paschal, Mrs. Gertrude Scheel, Helen Stephens and Alice Pachal were in charge of the flowers.

Burial was in the Beaver cemetery.

Mrs. Brechbuhl is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Herman Enabnit of Central City, Ia., Mrs. Henry Bloom of Loyal and Mrs. Lyle Robinson of Joliet, Ill., and one son, Gottlieb Brechbuhl Jr., of Waukesha. Three children died in Switzerland.

A daughter, Mrs. Lyle Robinson, and her daughter of Joliet attended the funeral, also a grandson, Cpl. Leo Bloom, of Missouri; a granddaughter, Miss Esther Bloom, of Eau Claire, and a Mrs. Bachman, from Thorp, who was a family friend in Switzerland

The Tribune adds its sympathy to that of friends and neighbors to the bereaved relatives.
