Obit: Cummings, Agnes (1901 - 1988)
A tribute published in The News Herald Marshfield, WISC. OCT 21 1988 Memorial Obituary Entered Into Eternal Rest Thursday, Oct. 20, 1988 Agnes Cummings BLACK RIVER FALLS- Agnes I. "Belle" Cummings, 86, of Pine View Nursing Home in Black River Falls, a former Neillsville resident, died at 3:25 p.m. Thursday at the nursing home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. Charles Adams of Grace Lutheran Church, Alma Center, will officiate. Burial will be in Neillsville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dean Stephens, Dale, Gary, Michael, Steve and Allen Jr. Cummings, Robert Palubicki Jr., and Tim Kelley. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Cummings, John Kelley, Randy Rowen, Gene Johnson, Peter Schmidt and Wayne Fritz. Deon Spangler will be the organist and Lori Anding, soloist. Visitation will be at Gesche Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, and Monday until the time of services. She was born Dec. 25, 1901 in Verona, to George and Hepsibah Bryan. She attended Verona schools. She was married to James D. Cummings June 23, 1920, in Neillsville. He died July 30, 1961. She moved with her parents to Neillsville in 1915. She worked for the Auto-Test Factory, the old Neillsville hospital and the Model Laundry of Neillsville. She worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Tomah. She moved to Alma Center in 1976 and entered the Pine View Nursing Home in 1983. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Rebekah Lodge No. 64 and the Retired Mail Carrier Association Auxiliary. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Agnes) Stephens of Merrillan, Ms. Jo Ann Rusinko of Warrens, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Palubicki of Cataract, and Mrs. John (Nancy) Kelley of Friendship; five sons James of Alma Center, Donald of Arlington, Ill. John of Wheeling Ill., Allen of Sun Prairie, and Thomas of Humbird; three sisters Mrs., Jessie McMillan of Sycamore Ill., Mrs. Nellie Roder of Waukesha, and Mrs. Edith Droster of Cottage Grove; one brother George of Neillsville; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grand children; and one great-great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, two sons William and Robert, two brothers, John and Walter, one sister, Elizabeth and one granddaughter Andrea. |
