O. G. Tripp moved into his splendid residence the latter part of last week, and is now more than comfortable located therein. The residence is one of the handsomest and best arranged buildings of the kind in our city, and we know of no family more deserving of the comforts it affords than that of Mr. Tripp.

Medford Star and News: “James Houston, late of Whittleay, now of Neillsville, has been in town nearly all the week on business. Jim knows a reap about pine timer and lumbering, and the Star and News would like to see him settled in Taylor county for good; but he will probably stick to his first love – Clark county.”

J.J.Grier, an agent of the Singer sewing Machine Company, and one that has operated to a considerable extent in this county during the past few years, was seriously injured in a railway smash-up on the Viaupua branch of the C. M. & St. P. railway last Saturday evening.

Mrs. Sones, who has been visiting with Mrs. B. F. Thompson for the last two weeks, left for her home in La Crosse last Thursday.

Miss Susie Sirwell, of Menomonee, Wis., is visiting friends here. She formerly wielded the birch in the school at this place and is always a welcome visitor.

Adolph McMahon, after spending the holidays with his parents and friends here, will return to his studies in the Medical School in Chicago tomorrow.

Mrs. Jacob Huntzicker gives a New Years party to-night at her residence to a number of invited friends.
