Baby Chubb’s Runaway Last Wednesday evening while Hon. R. J. MacBride was giving Mr. and Mrs. Stanley F. Chubb and their little daughter, Vivian, a sleigh ride, the horses became unmanageable and while turning a street corner all the occupants of the sleigh were thrown out excepting little Vivian. The horses ran to Staffordsville, a distance of nearly two miles, where they were stopped while running at full speed by Mrs. M. W. Reddan, whose bravery and daring feat probably saved the life of the child. Mrs. Reddan drove the team back to the city, and a thankful and happy couple were Mr. and Mrs. Chubb for the safe return of their little daughter.

Humbird Hummings H. T. Valentine has returned from his trip to Iowa, better suited with Wisconsin than ever.

H. E. Howe’s received a beautiful New Year’s present in the shape of a Masonic ring, valued at twenty dollars, the gift of several of Mr. Carter’s teamsters, who have worked under the direction of Mr. Howes for several years.

Mrs. B. Webster is very sick, but we learn is improving under the skillful management of Dr. Moore.

A fine little party we had last Monday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. C. I. McKinley. The fact that Mr. and Mrs. Colfix were the host and hostess, and Mrs. Stevens one of the prime movers, is proof enough that it was in every way a success.
