On last Monday morning, July 21st, J. C. March and Miss Amy Covey, both of Maple Works, were married by Rev. W. T. Hendren. They drove to Marshfield early in the morning where they took the train for Ashland, on a wedding trip. The bride is a daughter of M. J. Covey and was born and reared at Maple Works, where she has many friends. Mr. Marsh has lived at Maple Workssince boyhood and is well known throughout Clark county. This young couple has the best wishes of the Republican and Press.

Robert Schofield with whom we but recently became acquainted, made the office of the Republican and Press a call on last Thursday. He has been a resident of Clark county for nearly thirty years and although interested in the lumbering business in Arizona near Big Bug, he retains his farm and home near Greenwood. Himself and wife returned from Arizona some three weeks ago, he intends to return to Arizona in a short time, but will not be accompanied by his wife, where he will continue in the lumbering business.

Thomas Blecha, a citizen of Greenwood, has disappeared strangely. He was last seen about a mile south of Greenwood on Sunday, July 6th, about 9 p.m. It is thought he started for his brother’s, who lives four miles south of town; but what has become of him is now the question. He left a good job of masonry at Joe Gibson’s new house unfinished and without getting his pay for what he had done. He had been indulging in the “ardent” some what freely for a day or two, and it is feared that he wandered into the woods, and got lost or hurt. A party of about forty men have searched for one day but found no traces of him. He was a single man, about 25 years old, and was well liked and a good mechanic.

David McKenzie, lately of East Saginaw, Mich., a practical baker, has engaged in the baking business at this city, and will furnish the citizens with first-class bread, cake etc. on short notice.

GREENWOOD: Mr. Shehan has sold his pleasant home in town to Mr. Charles Honeywell, and has moved to his farm north of Greenwood.

Miss Mattie McKenna, the milliner, is doing a good business in that line, she is very pleasant and all like to trade with her.

Dr. Pitcher, the Neillsville dentist, will be in Greenwood for three days on July 29, 30 and 31st, and may be found at Dr. Thomas’ store.

Miss Della Brokaw, Louisa Withee and Allie Brown spent last Saturday with the Missess Belle Chandler and _______? Schofield.

Miss P. A. Honeywell from Spencer, is in town visiting relatives and friends.

Mrs. Thomas Miller is very sick.

Miss Bertha Mason has returned from her visit at home.
