Our little favorite, master Frank Satterlee, a son of M. F. Satterlee, foreman of the Times office, was badly hurt on last Monday afternoon by being kicked by one of Mrs. Reddan’s farm horses when he was passing the team on the street. He was picked up insensible and carried into Sniteman’s Drug store and Dr,. Templeton was sent for. Being kicked in the pit of the stomach it was feared that he was injured internally, but at this writing he is thought to be out of danger.

About a week since Mrs. North Vice was stricken down by paralysis (and by the way, is’ent that disease or affection getting to be quite common?). She, and husband now dead, were among the earliest settlers on Black River. The shock rendered her helpless – power of speech gone and limbs useless. Prof. Goodenough, of this city, was called in at once, and has succeeded in restoring speech and use of limbs by the use of his magnetic battery, so that she is in a fair way for recovery.

LONGWOOD ITEMS: McCarty & Co. have started their threshing machine.

N. H. Withee is having his new barn finished and painted this week.

H. M. Withee, of Neillsville, made us a call one day last week.

Mrs. W. H. Mead returned from Dakota Saturday.

Miss Minnie Poppe was bitten by some kind of a snake while picking berries one day last week. But as prompt measures were taken to prevent poison she is able to be out once more.

E. A. Eaton left for Dakota the 14th to enjoy a chicken hunt with A. S. Eaton, of Greenwood, and B. F. Brown, of Augusta
