News: The Clark Republican and Press 3-26-1885
Source: The Clark Republican and Press Date: 3-26-1885 I. Cross was in town last week. Mrs. Wescott was quite sick last week but at the last report was some better. Mrs. Gilman was greatly pleased to see her father, who came Saturday. Mrs. J. T. Stallard was agreeably surprised last week by a visit from her father, Mr. Wilson, of Rochester, Minn. Stiles and Tripp, who have been logging about five miles east of here “broke camp” Saturday. We do not think the “boys” regret it much-at least one would judge not, by the looks of their happy faces. Mrs. Spencer, of Portage, is now visiting her son, S. J. Spencer and her brothers, H. W. Colfix here. Now Tell you had better look a little out, as your mother is here to watch you. The next social will be at Mr. Benjamin Webster’s, a cordial invitation is extended to all. Mr. and Mrs. Doty, from Merrillan, were visiting friends here Saturday, as also were Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Tripp, of Neillsville. The Humbird schools closed Friday for a vacation of two weeks. The next social is to be at Mr. George King’s Friday evening Mar. 28. Mr. Doty, of Merrillan, started a harness shop here yesterday. Peter Beaver moved into town yesterday. Miss Mollie Gibson started for her home Saturday, that she may have a pleasant trip, is the wish of her friends. Raymond Jenkins was home on a visit last week. Clarence McElliose had the misfortune of falling off a load times Friday. Both of has hands were run over and badly bruised. The young folks has a very pleasant time at Mr. Wm. Albrights Saturday afternoon and evening. |
