--------- Schauer, Ferdinand R. (25 FEB 1868 - 10 DEC 1925)

Ferdinand Rudolph Schauer, a respected resident of Green Grove, Clark County, Wis., passed away at his home last Thursday, Dec. 10, 1925, after a lingering illness of nearly two years. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church, of which the deceased was always a staunch and faithful member, the Rev. M. Goetsch officiating.

The deceased was born Feb. 25, 1868, thus reaching the age of 57 years, 9 months and twelve days. In the year 1894, he was united in marriage to Miss Bertha Jenicke, which union was blessed with nine children of who seven are living.

The Schauer family resided for a number of years at Norwood and Oliva, Minn., from which they moved to Whittlessey, Wis., and finally came to Green Grove, which has been their home for the last sixteen years.

The deceased apparently was in good health until about two years ago, when he began to suffer with stomach trouble, which developed into cancer and left no hope for recovery.

Though suffering intensely, the departed bore up bravely and cheerfully, but, when the end approached, expressed a desire to be at rest. He died peacefully, with apparently no conscious suffering, in the firm conviction that he was going to his eternal home.

He leaves to mourn, his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Ben Graffunder, six sons, William, Ernest, Oscar, Erich, Walter and Hubert, besides three grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters, three stepbrothers and three stepsisters.

Our hearts go out to the bereaved family in deepest sympathy in their great loss.
