C. Dewey, of Hemlock, visited the county seat Monday.

Mrs. Ad. Kimball visited friends in Merrillan last week.

Sid Davis and Vet Marsh, of Granton, were in the city Monday.

W. H. Wmily, of Withee, transacted business in the city Monday.

A. J. Knorr of Granton, transacted business in this city Tuesday.

R. L. Meader visited Madison last week, returning home Monday.

Henry Veefkind, of Veefkind, Clark county, transacted business in this city Saturday.

Geo. B. Parkhill and L. O. Garrison, of Thorp, were visitors to the county seat Monday.

William Zassenhaus is on his farm in Green Grove for a couple of weeks, rusticating.

B. F. Thompson and D. Justice of Greenwood, visited the county seat Tuesday.

Miss Anna Reber, who has been attending school in Milwaukee, returned home Monday.

Miss Mannie Hughes is back to her former position with O’Neill & Marsh as stenographer.

Miss Hattie Bone and a lady friend of Merrillan, was in this city Saturday visiting friends.

Mrs. C. F. Grow went to Colby Monday to visit her parents, J. D. Wicker and wife.

Mr. and Mrs. Cy Stockwell, of Granton, visited pa and ma Stockwell in this city Monday.

Leo Redmond, Bernard Pulsifer and G. E. Green of this city, are now attending the Business University at La Crosse, and quite a number of others expect to enter soon.

Gid Clark, of Rhinelander, visited his mother and brothers, who reside south of this city, the first of the week. Mr. Clark has held several prominent offices in his county during his residence there. He is a Neillsville boy.

Fred Theiler, of New Giarus, Wis., a cheese broker, who has been operating the cheese factory in Day, will be in Neillsville from December 1st to 4th., and wishes to see the farmers in regard to purchasing milk for the season during 1897.

C. S. Stockwell has in his library, in the mechanical and surveying department, a book published in 1731, on surveying, which is claimed to have belonged to the library of George Washington and in fact bears his name on the fly leaf.

Henry E. Roethe, editor and published of the Times-Review at Fennimore, Wis., was in this city the past week the guest of Chas. Deutsch and family, of whom he is a relative.

Last week, sheriff Sheldon, accompanied by Ezra Tompkins and Peter Marks, as sisstants, took the three prisoners to Waupun from the Clark county jail, who were sentenced to serve two years for breaking into and burglarizing H. A. North’s store in this city some time ago.
