The deer hunting party, consisting of Geo. Redmond, Leo Redmond, Fred Runkle, Burton Wells, Even Williams, Tom Lloyd, of Rock County, Jeff Heath, of Mauston, and Louis Schnell returned last Thursday from a week’s hunt in Township 26 3 west. They lived in Foster’s camp near the big mound. They came in with the best record we have heard this fall. The score stands as follows: Wells 1, Runkle 1, Leo Redmond 1, Geo. Redmond 1, Schnell 1. In addition they found a fine bee tree, from which they brought in 100 pounds of honey besides what they ate in camp.

Fred Schwenskofsky, the butcher, having been indulging freely in strong drink for some time past, Geo. Redmond, at the request of friends of the family, had Schwenskofsky posted Monday. On finding that he could get no liquor, he became infuriated and raged about the streets threatening the life of Mr. Redmond who happened to be out of town. On his return in the evening he swore out a “peace warrant” for Schwenskofsky, who was brought before Justice Crothers on Tuesday, who ordered that he give bonds to keep the peace for six months. As yet he has not furnished the bonds and was committed to jail
