Effie Rowe the ten years old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Rowe is sick with Scarlet fever at their home on the North Side.

John Murphy, chairman of Weston, is in the city receiving medical treatment for rheumatism, from which he is a great sufferer.

Emery Bruley’s store building is having the finishing torches put on it,, and with steel ceilings, commodious shelving and large show windows, makes a fine location for any line of business.

Thos. McIvar, one of the crew that was repairing the Black River bridge west of the city, accidentally slipped while at his work on Saturday and fell a distance of about eighteen feet to the frozen ground and rocks below, dislocating one elbow, and receiving a severe cut on the scalp. He was brought into the city where his injuries received medical attention. The injuries while painful are not dangerous.

Coming to Neillsville: Drs. J. H. Dawley and J. Henry Frank. Dr. J. Henry Frank has been in a hospital for a number of years in Milwaukee, and was assistant to Dr. Levings and Hays at Milwaukee for Two years, and has practiced outside of hospital for three years. Dr. J. H. Dawley has practiced medicine for a number of years and was in a hospital at Cleveland, Ohio. They have done the greater part of their surgery in Northern Wisconsin. They will locate here the last of this month.

(Partial article) ….by order of the Probate court, Kr. Kountz has reached the ultima thule of his ambitions. He has been appointed general guardian of John G. O’Neill a boy of about twelve years of age in the town of Colby, both of whose parents are dead. Petitions for adoption were filed by the relations of both father and mother, but Judge Jacques decided to grant neither petition and appointed Mr. Kountz general guardian with power to investigate the situation and place the boy where it seems best.
