Sheriff Tufts went Tuesday to Waupun to transport Stevens, the Abbottsford burglar, to durance vile.

I. M. Stockwell and Arthur went to St. Paul Saturday for a few days’ visit with their brother Tom, who is employed in the car shops in that city.

Mrs. Robert Scholfield, of Greenwood, stopped off in Neillsville for a few hours Saturday on her way home from quite an extensive visit in Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

J. R. Sturdevant has built a new sidewalk and repainted the fence in front of his residence on Hewett street. Max. Herman was the construction crew and did a handsome job.

H. M. Root sold his family team to W. H. Turner of York, and has purchased a pretty span of bay drivers from a party in Jackson county.

A. Barton has just received a carload of Champion mowers and binders. He is agent for these standard machines, and farmers should examine them before purchasing elsewhere.

Marriage licenses this week: Michael Armz, Marshfield and Mrs. Mary Bibloy; Allen Wildish and Bertha Zschermitz, both of Pine Valley; William F. Luepke, Unity and Emma Weyhmueller, Sherman; A. J. Thomas, Waupaca county and Nellie R. Flemming, Abbotsford.
