Workmen are extending Dwight Roberts’ grocery building back several feet this week. Dwight needs more room to swing himself.

Geo. Shapiro spent a few days this week in Black River Falls. He talks some of going into business with his brother who lives at the Falls.

F. J. Simons, J. C. Hahn and W. Campbell, the Humbird delegation to the County Convention, staid overnight in Neillsville on their way home.

Marriage licenses this week: John H. Zell of Marathon county, and Mary Schuster of Grant; Edward Dood and Laura E. Newman, both of Fremont.

Otto Kelpin was caught in a cave-in while engaged in excavating for a sewer last Saturday. The bone of his left leg were crushed although not broken. He will be laid up for several weeks with his injury.

Two Clark county boys who completed the law course of the university law school are Donald McMillan and Victor Pierrelle. They have been regularly admitted to practice in the supreme and federal courts and are full fledged lawyers.

A Junior Christian Endeavor was organized at the Congregational church last Sunday afternoon. The following officers were elected: Pres – Dor Brewster Vice Pres – Ruby Neff Sec – Helen Marsh Treas Clark Morley Supt – Flora Saupe

Jos. Beer, foreman in the Deutsch-Americaner office, had the misforture ot get his hand caught between the grippers and tympan of a job press Tuesday forenoon badly smashing the middle finger and jamming the index and third finger considerably. It is a bad one for Joe as the injured member is his right hand, which is the handiest in a print shop.

A brakeman named John McPike slipped and fell from a moving box car on the through freight Tuesday afternoons when near the washboard factory. He fell about 30 feet, landing in the mud and water. Both bones of the left leg were broken above the ankle and the foot dislocated. He was picked up and taken to Ayers’ hotel where his injuries were dressed by Dr. John Conroy, and he getting along nicely.
