Obit: Chariton, Cecelia A. (Bauer) 1894 -15 Dec 1973
Cecelia A. (Bauer) Chariton (1894 - 1973) A former area Resident, Mrs. Cecelia A. Chariton, 79, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Grand Care Nursing Home in Green Bay where she had been a resident for the past seven years. Rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids with the Rev. Carl Dockendorff, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery there. Friends may call at the Higgins and Sons Funeral Chapel, in Wisconsin Rapids from 3 p.m. Tuesday until time of services on Wednesday. A general prayer service will be held there at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The former Cecelia Bauer was born December 6, 1894 in Hewitt and moved with her family at an early age to the Greenwood-Loyal area, where she continued to reside until her marriage to Joseph H. Chariton, who preceded her in death. She then lived in Abbotsford and later in Wisconsin Rapids for eight years, prior to entering the nursing home. She was a past member of St. Vincent’s Women’s Club. Survivors include five sons, Raymond Chariton, Los Angeles, California, Anthony Chariton, St. Paul, Minnesota, Joseph Chariton, Wisconsin Rapids, Bernard Chariton, Milwaukee, and Edwin Chariton, Medford; two daughters, Miss Elizabeth Chariton, Gillett, and Mrs. Frank Weigel, Marshfield; a brother, Joseph Bauer, Cadott; 40 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
