Surnames: SORENSON KUESTER ---------Source: OWEN ENTERPRISE (Owen, Clark County, Wis.) 10/14/1926 --------- Sorenson, Arthur (19 DEC 1889 - 9 OCT 1926) Arthur Sorenson, aged 36, a World War veteran, died at his home south of Owen, Clark County, Wis., Saturday night, Oct. 9, 1926. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home and 1:30 o'clock at the Norwegian Lutheran Church at Longwood, Clark County, The Rev. Aaberg officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery. The Albert Van Huizen Post No. 123 of the American Legion of Owen conducted the services at the grave. Arthur Sorenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels K. Sorenson, was born in Withee, Dec 19, 1889. He has always made his home in Clark County. Mr. Sorenson was in training for duty overseas, at Camp Grant, Ill,, and Camp Hancock, Ga., in Machine Gun Battalion Co. I, from July 25, 1918, until March 1, 1919, when he received his honorable discharge. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Inga Kuester of St. Paul, and Lulu, at home; William G. of Goodman, Wis., and Oscar, at home. Five brothers and one sisters preceded him in death. Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were William G. Sorenson and children of Goodman, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Warnick and Mr. and Mrs. John Amoe of Jeffris, Wis.; Mrs. Nellie DeLong and grandson, Robert Sorenson, of Antigo, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Anderson of Stevens Point, Wis.; Mrs. Chris Nelson and Mrs. Henry Binning of Unity, Wis.; Edward Nelson, Mrs. Inga Firnstahl and daughter Ramona, and Mrs. Leo Budahn of Marshfield, Wis.; Miss Thelma Anderson and Arthur Long of Stanley, Wis.; Conrad Ingvaldsen and children of Minneapolis; Mrs. Inga Kuester and Mrs. E. H. Clark and two children of St. Paul; Leon K. Kuester of Wabasha, Minn.; and Miss Arda Kuester of Menomonie, Wis. |
