--------- Shores, Ethemore H. (22 OCT 1897 - 6 MAR 1930)

Ethemore Henry Shores, son of Joseph and Anna Shores, was born at Muscoda in Grant Co., Wis., on Oct. 22, 1897, and died at his home in the town of Longwood, Clark County, Wis. on Thursday, March 6, 1930, aged 32 years, 4 months and 12 days. He came to Thorp, Clark County with his parents in 1901. On June 26, 1920 he was united in marriage with Miss Agnes Poppe, who survives him. There also remains to mourn his loss, four children, Leah Mae, Irma Margaret, Ernest Ethemore and Francis Earl, his aged parents, one sister, Mrs. J. G. MacNees, three brothers, Harry Earl, Leo Thomas and Ivan Shores.

Deceased served this country in the World War, enlisting as a private at Madison in July 1917 at the age of eighteen years. During his military services he served in the infantry, the ordinance department and was honorably discharged from the Quatermaster's Corps on April 16, 1919, at which time he resumed civilian life in this vicinity and resided here until his death.

He was a member of Cecil Tormey Post No. 118 of Thorp, which organization was represented at the funeral by about twenty-five members, comprising the firing squad, pallbearers and bugler.

After a short service at the home, funeral rites were conducted on Monday at the Congregational Church at Owen by Rev. W. P. Powell. He was laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery near the Black River.
